SooC works with pre-written characters that are created by the organisers.
We will give you a background that contains at least the following elements:
- Character name
- Age group (perceived age / real age)
- Gender
- What kind of loyalty your character has towards the cult. Read more about loyalty here.
- Information about your life before and in the cult
- Your character’s function or role in the LARP serves as an out-of-game guideline to help you adopt the right mindset. It clarifies what others might expect from your character and how you contribute to the overall experience.
- A secret (not all of these are major shocking secrets, they can also be small and personal.)
- At least 3 close relationships with fellow characters (at least one positive and one negative.)
- Powers (if your character has those.)
- The story so far (if relevant)
- Key events/triggers that are relevant to the character (if your character has those).
Casting:
We will be casting you based on your preferences in the sign-up sheet. When cast you will receive a short summary of your character. Full characters should be ready around October.
A note on clans:
As organizers, we will use WoD clans in the creation of your characters, but this information will not appear on your character sheet.
Clan affiliation is not a significant gameplay element for members of the cult. The founders do not engage in clan politics, and other members have no knowledge or awareness of clans at all.
