Stichting Silhouette Society Immersive has the following house rules. Everyone who engages with the community (like a member of the online or offline community, prospective player, signed-up participant, active participant, crewmember and organiser).
Be respectful of your fellow participants and organisers
As an organisation we expect everyone at the event to be respectful of each other, their belongings and the location. We do not tolerate any off game bullying, harassment, discrimination, violence or sexually transgressive behaviour from anyone present at our events, this includes organisers, players, crew and npc’s alike.
When in doubt about anything ask for explicit consent from the other person before continuing the interaction be it out game or in game.
We as an organisation commit to making our rules easily available and clear to all attending. We expect those attending our events to adhere to these rules and participate according to our values of participation, cooperation and collaboration.
Mandatory workshops, rules, briefings and materials
When you sign-up for one of our events we expect you to read and know the specific rules and regulations for that event and adhere to those. We ask you to double check these and verify this during sign-up.
Make sure you read the information on the website or in the design document and do not assume that you might know everything from previous experiences.
Some workshops are deemed mandatory and if you fail to show up for these the organisers hold the right to bar you from entering play until someone has had the time to go over the materials, information and calibration with you. This might mean that you have to wait a significant amount of time before you can enter play as organisers might be busy. If you can for any reason outside of your power not attend let us know as soon as possible (preferably before the event.) So we can see if and how we might be able to accommodate you.
Possession and use of alcohol and drugs
Possession or use of any form of recreational drugs is prohibited at our events.
Possession and use of alcohol is decided per event and these rules can be found on the individual event page.
Photo policy
Our photo policy is decided on an event by event basis and can be found on the website of the specific event. The photo policy for Sins of our Creators can be found here.
Sign-up policy
Our sign-up policy as well as flagging is decided on an event by event basis and can be found on the website of the specific event.
Payment and finances
Our payment policy like deadlines amounts and cancellations are decided on an event by event basis and can be found on the website.
The following rules always apply:
1. If you still have outstanding balance from a past event you cannot sign-up for new events until the balance is fully paid off.
2. The organisation has the right to make agreements about alternative payment plans on an individual basis. If you do not adhere to your payment plan you forego any such options for all future events.
You cannot resell your ticket
In any and all cases the ticket can only be redistributed through the organisers. If you have to cancel your participation you let the organisers know and they’ll find a replacement. Any tickets resold between participants without explicit permission from Stichting Silhouette Society Immersive are deemed void.
AVG/GDPR
Stichting Silhouette Society Immersive has a written AVG and GDPR statement that can be found on the website.
Social media and official contact with the organisation
Our organisation has an online presence on social media; for example facebook (announcements only) and Discord.
Membership of these groups is completely voluntary and never a requirement for participation. However we strongly encourage joining our Discord server as this is where we facilitate pre-game contact between players and discussions on things like costume.
Our official communication channels are e-mail and the Discord. If you have any questions send us an e-mail or ask them in the “organiser questions”. Private messages or questions in other channels are not considered official and might be ignored.
Any information we think you need will be posted on Discord and later repeated in e-mail.
Times are changing so we may choose to replace or add new social media channels in the future.
Failure to comply with the event rules/regulations or this code of conduct
If you fail to comply with any of the event rules/regulations and/or the code of conduct this can lead to immediate termination of your participation without restitution of the participation fee. This cancellation may also happen during the event in which case you are expected to leave the venue immediately and are responsible for your own travel and accommodation from there on.
