Costume guide
The Silhouette is a cabaret, a bar, a place of darker dealings and desires. You can dress in a flaunting fashion if you come as a guest, or perhaps you are proud to show your membership to the Regime in a military fashion. Did you come in from the street, in worker clothes with a cap? Or a slick three piece suit.
Even though the Roaring Twenties are over, their influence can still be seen in both day- and nightwear. Flapper dresses and dandy suits were still around. However not all dresses were squares, hair cut into sharp bobs and hats hiding razorblades.
You can still find influence from earlier decades. A great blog to read about how to dress for partying in Berlin of the ‘20s and ‘30s can be found here: (https://www.thesmartset.com/article04190901/)
We are not a re-enactment, you can take some creative freedom in your outfit. For more inspiration you can look at our Pinterest page, or look at photos from our previous run. Of course you could also look at the costumes for Cabaret the musical and film!

The Stage Group
If you are part of the Stage Group, your costume can be flashy and daring, but be mindful that you need to be able to dance in it as well. In order to create a cohesive look we ask you to have an all black stage outfit. Between performances you can wear anything you like. You can find a separate section on our Pinterest for inspiration.

….. heraldry and symbols
Please do not use any real world nazi symbols in any way. We do not support this. If you have any questions do not hesitate to reach out via e-mail.
We will use derived symbols, as shown on the accompanied picture (a black plus sign on a white circle.)
Nazi related movements (such as the salute) will not be used either.
All of this will also be discussed during the workshops, and alternatives will be given.
